transmission Grinding into 2nd when cold, throwout baring noise !!!HELP!!!

After lending my car to a friend for his prom my 2nd gear has felt different. When its cold its a rough shift into 2nd and sometimes grinds. The car has a CA18 with a stage two clutch.

Once the car is at operating temp it shifts as smooth as a hot knife through butter.

Also, I am having a slight "ding ding dingaling ding ding" noise that sounds like a bad throwout baring.

Any advice as to what might help. Does anyone know what is wrong?

Typically a grind is a sign of a bad syncro. As far as the noise does it do it when the clutch is engaged or disengaged?
