When was the last transmission service? What is the level and color of the transmission fluid? Is the CEL on?

FYI, the 2004 Maxima has a 'drive-by-wire' electronic throttle actuator which has very sensitive components. Nissan does not recommend cleaning the Throttle Body (and butterfly valve) due to possibility of damage to actuator/sensors.
