hi all...ive been coming here and readin the forums for a bit...you guys seem pretty cool...

well i was lookin on the nismoparts.com site and seen they have a replacment for the 5th gear in our slushes...i know when im goin at 60 mph my rpms are at 2500-2700...how much lower would this 5th gear bring the rpms?

we have a .759 ratio the new one is a .838

would this be worth buying?

are you doing this for gas mileage reasons? j/w because our ka's arent noted for their high-speed freeway cruising potential....

yea gas mileage/top speed...and i dunno about the cruising potential...my bro and i go driving all the time here in SC(low on cops high on road ) and we usaully go 90 any where we go...when we race(he has a souped up 350 small block 79 camaro) we get to 140 easy...and my rev limiter doesnt kick in till im at about 150-155mph...i figure with the new gear i could work in a new top speed and leave my bro behind

he has a small exhaust leak...its easy for him to fix hes jus too lazy too....

dont laugh at me cuz i dont know EXACTLY what the set ups are or what everything is...i jus went to a shop down the road from me called redline auto after shopping around for labor prices and all...these guys were about in the middle for price but they were HIGHLY recommended...i told them i wanted my car made for fast daily driving...port and polish/cams/gears/in take/exhaust/tuned/reflashed ecu/fuel system...most of the work was all one-off pieces...and the guys made a little plaque to go under my hood to advertise for them...even a lil contract stating that if i did this for them they wouldnt give anyone my EXACT set up...all of their work is different for each car and its sumtin they do for all their customers...

i know people going to say that who can tell whos got what but i mean its jus the trust factor you get with these guys after about 2 months of working with them...if youre in the SC area check out the lil shop...it ain much but the work they do is amazing

There is no reason to do 150 mph in a 240SX. It's highly unstable at those speeds.

Oh and that gear won't lower your RPM it will increase it.

That 5th gear ratio is the same as D21, they are selling the truck 5th gear. You could get this same part from any 86-97+? D21 4cyl 2wd transmission.

Or you could just put that D21 transmission in your 240sx, 1-4 ratios the same, 5th different, same transmission aside from that (and shifter, which can be swapped).

To use a d21 transmission in 240sx the starter motor mounting threads must be drilled out of transmission, so that a bolt can slip through.

I am goin to be usuing a 97 d21 transmission in my 510, nice unit when appropriate rear end ratio is used (ie, subaru )

well to be honest i have only done 150 3 times...to be even more honest it scares the hell outta me to go that fast LOL...but as far as stable goes it seems to do jus fine no wierd shacking or engine problems at all...the car it self feels like your going 60mph...but then you look at the trees going by and youre sucked into realaity and its like "oooooohhhhh sssshhhh!!!!!tttttt" heh...i have more done to the car than whats listed thats jus a off the top of my head list...i know my limits...and so does my rev limiter

so the gear i want wont help my needs huh?i was thinking of 6 speed if this didnt help...is there any good ones for 240s with the KA or would i have to shell out the moeny to get one fabbed up?

let me ask you this, when you are going 150mph and you see the "blur," is it like when they hit the OMGNOSUFAG button on fast and furious? i never take my car that far past the limit.
