transmission fluid?

I need to get transmission fluid for my 08 Altima 2.5S, and was told I need CVT fluid. I was wondering if it absolutely has to be that one? It's running for about 20 bucks a quart and I'm gonna need over 10 since mine was completely drained. I need a cheaper option.

Yes, it must be the Nissan specific CVT fluid. It's expensive but it's about the only way to go as I recall.
