Any one done this yet?Thanks

Never mind, just found it thru several link on this forum. Man this place is awesome.

Here is what I found.

The amount of new transmission fluid to use should be 30 to 50% of the stipulated amount.ATF: Genuine Nissan Matic J ATFFluid capacity: 10.3 (10-7/8 US qt, 9-1/8 lmp qt)

The best way to do it is to measure the amount that you took out and replace it.. Out of that 10 quarts total, youd be lucky to get out 4 quarts out of the pan. the other 6 quarts is inside the valve body, torque converter, and so forth.

I read some where that the Infinity tranny fluid is about $12. a Quart. Is this true. I know this fluid is "special". Is any aftermarket lube company making a product that is approved for use in the G?

When JATCO designed the new tranny it assummed a bigger role in warranty, thus they created a special formulation ATF and required its use in their transmission before they would honor warranty pass thru from Nissan.

Besides being a decent hydrolized synthetic it has special additives to control different slip stick ratio of the new dual lockup clutch. Until the new 5AT Nissan AT all had single lockup clutch!AT your own risk you might try adding Lubeguard BLACK in varying ratios [start with half 5-6 ounces in 10 quarts of Mobil 1 Syn ATF.

All you have at risk is tranny failure.......the color will give you away if warranty is a concern!

Remember dealers markup parts cost by 100%.

By the way, the J Fluid cost has come down recently (competition perhaps from other sources).

At the 30k mile point, I had a transmission flush done on my M45 (also did it at 10k miles) and it was no longer as expensive.

Does the car not have a dipstick to check the auto tranny fluid level? Unless they changed how we are supposed to check fluid level since I last played with an autotranny.
