I looked in the owners manual and it just says "take it to the dealer". I do have a dipstick in the tube, I just need to know if I check it like a normal trans.....warm, in park, on level ground etc. or if there is something special to it. I know some vehicles require being in N or even some in D. thanks for any insight to my dilema.

I have always checked mine while warm, running, in neutral, on level ground, after putting it through P, R, N, D, then back to N, and check.

My fluid looked like coffee. I had it changed today, as well as the diff fluid.

as far as warmed up, from a cold start you should go drive it for about 15 minutes before checking it. Make sure the transmission is up to temperature before checking it....... Just a tip for those who don't know....

So I went to the local Nissan dealer and asked them........warm, @idle, in park. I think I'm too full. Does $165. sound right for the transmission flush?, everything included.

Sounds reasonable. Oil at $8/qt. x 10 quarts plus labor.

We only dump the pan ATF each 7500 miles and change out 3.5 qts. We never do a full flush. It's cheaper and does the job.

Our trannys have never given us problems since we began implementing this procedure on all our vehicles with A/Ts.

nissan charged me $140 for a transmission fluid exchange not a flush... make sure that it is a flush not just an exchange.... price difference is suspicious, considering you would need more than 10 quarts for a flush as against 4 quartz for an exchange...

My local nissan dealer did a flush on my daughter's 00 Max for $139 a month ago. They also did a radiator flush for $109.

I have a 07 with 30k. Would you say it time for a full flush for me?

Suppose to flush it every 30k. I highly suggest it. Nissan charged me $139. for a flush. It uses a total of 14 quarts to flush, and the transmission and torque convertor holds 10.5 quarts. They do waste 3.5 qt while flushing, but Adrain told me that is to make sure that all the old has been flushed out.
