I'm having the transmission fluid changed (low pressure flush) on my 2008 M45x and need to know if the fluid for the awd system needs to be changed as well?

You should. It's very easy to have done at the same time. Just did it today on mine.

I do my transmission flush (powered system - not just a drain and fill) every 30k miles.

Probably a good rule to live by. The first one you could probably go to 60k or so, but 30k after that is a pretty good interval (every 1-2 years for most people)

I had my trans power-flushed by the dealer at 64,000 miles. Took the car in for the recall fix and it was recommended that since my car was at 93,400 miles that another trans flush and differential fluid change was recommended. I'll plan on trans flushes every 30,0000 miles from now on.
