Anybody know what mileage is required to change the transmission fluid? Also, do the G35s have a transmission oil filter? How many quarts does the auto transmission take? Also, I checked with the transmission oil pan gasket and those things are freaking $40 plus.

I'd say between 30-50k depending on how you drive. Should be an easy job...don't know if they have a filter. I did my wifes 02 Lancer and it didn't have a filter!?

most cars these days have them but they are built inside the transmission and aren't meant to be replaced

I'd do a transmission fluid change every 30k change the differential fluid at the same time.

On my Hemi ram the transmission had 2 filters. They were $50 plus it held 16 quarts of fluid at $4.50 a quart for MOPAR ATF+4. YIKES!

I changed the fluid every 25-30 k miles and still lost the transmission at 57k miles while beating a Celica GTS on I-10 :-) Pictures of rebuild below,

I went through 3 differential rebuilds in the same amount of time although one was completely my fault ( doing doughnuts with the rear tires lit up :-) wheel hop CRUSHED the pinion bearing I had to pound it off with a air hammer LOL)

The alternative to not maintaining a clean and freshly lubed AT is a $4,600 replacement bill for a used reman. All owner has to do is decide when [mileage] he/she wants to pay the big bill or installments [mainteance] along the way.

One reason 10 year old car are only worth 10% of new MSRP.

Does anyone know if the G35's have a serviceable transmission filter?
