Why not give them a call and have one sent to you?

There is a kit that includes the gasket, filter, O ring and one time us bolts.

If you just order the filter, that is all you will receive.

Filter is useless without the new pan gasket and other bits needed to complete the job- rookie mistake

I've always used the O-ring off the old filter. You can also use the same pan gasket and bolts. "One time use" is really not so. If the pan bolts have never been over-tightened, the gasket should still be good.

(not directed toward you drew)

i don't know which is more predictable: ios messing up my order or you guys trying to tell me everything other than what i need to know. next time could you please at least include the information i am looking for along with whatever other "advice" you feel like throwing in? answering the question at hand really should be the bare minimum.

i called instead of ordering online since i couldn't find the quick clean on the site (for good reason it turned out, they don't sell it). i tried to order the kit but they didn't have it in the system so i ordered it piece for piece. i included the o-ring and even asked about it when it wasn't read back to me. in response, i was told it was included with the filter.

i guess my (not so) "rookie mistake" was trusting that the parts guy actually knew what he was talking about since i bought all the other "bits": 93 tcu, b&m cooler/external filter, lubegard red, bg quickclean for transmission, oem gasket w/ bolts/filter/drain plug washer.

i guess a specific answer to a specific question is just asking a little too much from the nico elite. i'll just buy one from a local dealer. thanks for nothing.

I know I shouldn't try to apologize on IOS's part. But I think it would be easier to get yourself Nissan FAST (Email me and I will send you it) then ask them to confirm the order. Then get them to send you a PDF copy of the order though email.

That's 3 ways to assure that you get all the parts you asked for, But if you don't want to do that that's fine because its there job to get it right. But were all human and Joe does the best he can to handle at least hundreds of orders each day so bear with him.

And I must say MY FIRST ORDER they sent me the wrong gasket but they latter send me the correct one nearly free of charge and I got to keep the old one, so if you find a better place to order parts from please let us know.

And if they do forget to send you what you ordered I am sure they will correct the problem for you ASAP.

And to answer your original question I am sure you can use an Autozone or other parts store gasket as it is just regular rubber as far as I know.

And after looking in Nissan FAST my self I see that the filter and O-rings have different part numbers so they are indeed each separate.

I feel your pain. All of my orders were wrong with IOS. Hopefully Joe is viewing this thread once again to see their screw up. I'm about to order the driver's lower control arm w/ball joint and if they send me the wrong part...again...I'm going to blow up!

Actually Joe said that we can order directly thru him so I just might do that. I'll have to search for his old post to get his contact info.

Paul, you are right, they will fix the problem by sending you the correct part, BUT that's a major inconvience especially if you are ready to fix the car then.

that's probably the way to go if you have 3 days to wait on a return phone call. in my experience, asking for joe = "please leave a message and i'll get back to you... eventually".

You ordered a part, IoS sent it. Where's the mistake?

If you had ordered the kit, IoS would have sent that. You didn't order the kit. A brief conversation with Dan, Frank or Justin would have had the correct parts in your possession.

IoS cannot be expected to cover for owner's ignorance.

If you must interact with Joe, email is best.

Are you serious? Did you even read his post from earlier. If not here it is

Now after reading that, Black did all he could do on his end, once again IOS MESSED UP! Also I didn't know that you had to wait that long to get back in contact with Joe. I will email him and see how many days it takes for him to reply back.
