well on sunday night me my brother and my dad spent almost 5 hours trying to get the damn driveshaft into the transmission. i'm putting the engine and transmission in as one whole and the drive shaft is kinda in the transmission but we can't line it up to get the job done. it's almost done because we need to move it about 3 inches towards the rear so the mounts will all line up. now i'm just wondering if anyone has any pointers on getting the driveshaft into the transmission. we tried jacking up the rear and spinning the tires to rotate the driveshaft but that didn't seem to work, we keep rocking the engine and jacking up the driveshaft and/or transmission end. the engine is just hanging in the bay right now and i'm just trying to relax and calm down and figure out on how to get this done. so if anyone can help that would be great.

also, i was wondering what did you guys do about the heater hoses on the back of the engine. did you just rotate the exsisting sr hoses so they would line up with the ka heater core hoses, or did you guys go out and buy new hoses and do a custom job? and does it matter which hose goes into which hose? (there's only 2 hoses). so thanks if anyone can help on either problems.

Regarding the hoses, yes it does matter which is hooked up to which, the water flows a certain way.

As for the driveshaft where did you remove it from? You should have unbolted it from the differential (4 bolts) then it just slides out of the transmission. Reinstalling it is just the same, slide it into the transmission all the way connect it to the back, then bolt it up in the middle. It is probably easiest to do it with the motor lifted up a little.

well about the driveshaft, i just left it there and i pulled the transmission out, should i have taken the driveshaft out as well?

did you just twist the exsisting hoses that were on the sr to fit up with the ka heater core?
