I called Lokey Infinti today and inquired on how much it would cost to drain and refill my transmission fluid. Not having any issues but just trying to get maintenance things done. anyways i was told that they don't recommend draining and refilling since the car has 138k on her. Does that sound correct or was the guy just bring lazy and wasn't trying to help.

Nah, that's been the general rule of thumb for many decades. The thought is that by now your transmission fluid is so old and has many particles floating in it and that some of those particles 'keep stuff together'...by flushing it out, you are basically removing what's holding your transmission together lol. Or something along those lines...

HOWEVER, if the transmission was regularly maintain (I do my fluid every 50kmi), then I don't see a problem.

If you have been doing a flush or drain and fill every 40-50k miles then it shouldnt be a problem to do it again now.

I agree with you all. Basically it comes down to two situations:

1) High mileage with NO proof of previous servicing for most of that mileage.
Leave bit be. Those shavings, particles, etc are stuck to various parts and dislodging them lets them s;ush about to clog vital parts inside the gear box.
------------------------- OR ------------------------------------------
2) High mileage but WITH consistent servicing (every 40-60 miles):
Perhaps not an actual flush, but certainly a drain / fill and if possible have them clean the magnet in the pan unless the they want a ton of dollars to doi it.
