I just got a new clutch kit and installed it for my 95 240sx, 5speed... Now the problem is when I shift into first and start to gas and release the clutch, it makes a loud screeching/grinding noise, and then the stick sticks to first gear and I have to force it out or it'll just keep making the noise. This happens in first and reverse. Any ideas?

Thanks!

can you get it in any other gear? it sounds like you got something installed wrong.

Yeah, I can get into any gear I want, it just does the same thing. Oh yeah also, when it makes the grinding noise, the car still moves.. It like jumps, and then moves as if the clutch were really worn out, but it really can't gain speed at all, and then of course it just makes the noise.

well my best guess would be one of 3 possiblities, you didnt put the pilot bushing all the way into the crankshaft, or you got the clutch plate in upside down, or you put the T/O bearing on the carrier upside down.
