hey guys, am in need of information once again. My question is does the SR transmission have a spring on the throwout fork to return it to its position when the clutch engages (when the pedal is released)? cause my clutch seems to stick, like it has problems returning when i let the pedal out. also it is really slow off the line, like wont accelerate at all, then magically it takes off again. My roomate was done alot of racing and is helping me with my car, and he says that it feels like that could be the problem....so any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

slave cylinders are common problems on nissans when the weather starts to change. they especially hate going from warm to cold. Thankfully they're cheap.

well i pulled off my slave cylinder and it was sticking a bit, so after pulling it apart and cleaning it and lubing it, it seems to be working normally. but when im driving my car the clutch pedal has alot of free play, but still grabs just fine and stuff. any ideas why this might be? the clutch im using is Exedy Stage 1 organic copper mix with matching pressure plate.

ive bled the clutch like a hundred times, there is absolutly no air in the system. ive heard that sometimes the pedal could be adjusted funny from a previous clutch on the car, and that it can be adjusted inside the car, so i think im gonna check that out

yes off the Master Cylinder there is an adjustment screw that will pull the pedal closer or futher away. The closer the less play in the pedal because the master cylinder is engaged sooner. If you want just replace both if the adjustment doesnt help.

Also you might want to look into replacing your Fork Pivot Bolt because mine recently snapped off and we had to replace the master and slave cylinder because of it and replaced the stock Pivot ball with a Nismo Pivot ball joint. 30% harder than OEM

Yes, adjust the free play on the pedal to 1-3mm per the FSM.

Also, unless you're replacing the clutch, don't worry about replacing the fork pivot. My stock one is holding up fine right now with the ACT HD Pressure plate. If you're in there already t hough, it is probably worth the extra money to save labor later.

Damn, did you get a drifter's SR? :P I'm going on 1 full year of daily driving and 25,000 miles with the SR and the clutch setup below:

Does goofin' off mean "clutch kicking"? Fun stuff

thanks guys, i will try to adjust it next week in class for privledge days (i go to tech school, every 6 weeks i can bring my car in to work on stuff, but it has to be class related)

i used to clutch kick alot on my ka, and the only problem i had was the syncros went out eventually, after like 3 solid months of clutch kicking every day. is the sr's transmission gonna hold up better, or not so much? im wondering cause my 240 is no longer my daily, its drift and touge only car, so it wont be driven much around town, yet i cant afford a new transmission till a graduate (september). do you gusy think it will hold up to drifting pretty well, or not really?
