Afteroon Guys and Girl.

I had a shock a few days ago,as it sounded like my transmission was finished.

When i opened it up I was happy to see that it is only the reverse gear idle that is damaged and a bit of wear on the reverse gear itself. I will be replacing all of the main bearings with proper Jap bearings, not the Chinese crap that the previous owner put in.

Advise please :

Can I reuse the reverse idle gear,or should i have a new one made? (Spares are almost non-existent here,so will have to have it made)

Do your best to find another one or look into sourcing one from the KA24's gearboxes. That gear is unserviceable and needs to be replaced.

Seriously, that's all the wear yours has? lol
Mine is worse than that. It's just reverse, do you go driving around in reverse all day, if not, reuse it.

They're VERY expensive from Nissan, and can you pull out of a used trans will look just as bad.
