So I'm doing the clutch on my 2003 Sentra SER Spec V and I'm having the hardest of times trying to get the transmission removed from the engine.

Me and my dad first tried to do it with the engine still in the car with no avail. It wouldn't budge. So we ended up dropping the engine so we would have more room to work on it. And the transmission will still not budge from the engine. It's not attached to the engine by any bolt, the pins have separated and it is spinning on the input shaft but just won't come off.

I have no idea why it won't budge, we've been using pry bars and even pounding in wedges to try and force the two items apart but there is an incredible amount of force still holding it together.

What did I miss? Why isn't it removing easier than this?

Don't force too hard on there, those casings are fragile. You're SURE all the bolts are out?

Yea, if the transmission is spinning FREELY around, I'm pretty sure every bolt is out of the casing. Especially if half an inch is around the entire casing.

Something internal is holding it on the input shaft and not budging it.

We got it off. It was the clutch and pressure plate holding it on. The clutch disc got spun on the shaft so the grooves werent lined up at all.
