did mobil 1 75-90w. That was a very simple job to do. I was impressed with the lil c-clasp that holds the shifter in. I put 2 1/2 in for just in case issues. Not that i don't believe you. Just felt a lil more comfortable with doing it.

Anyone know how to change the damn clutch fluid without getting air back into the system. This i'm still a novice in.

Do u have an RB25 transmission? If so it will be right at 1 gallon (4 quarts) of transmission fluid. Im not sure where 2 quarts came from, but that is not correct.

Get a fluid pump and hook a hose on the bleeder nipple on the slave cylinder. Take the cap off the clutch master cylinder and dont let it overflow, or it will be a huge mess to clean up. Take some of the fluid out of the reservoir and then squeeze some fluid into the system through the fluid pump. If youre fluid is dirty or old, you will def be able to tell when the new fluid has made it through the lines.

If you ditch the damper box, its really not that hard to bleed the system.

wawazat8402 - I honestly don't know how you got 4 qts into your RB25 transmission. I put two quarts in the fill hole on the side and it started spilling out with my last squeeze of the bottle. Albeit, the car was inclined a little bit at the time, but not enough to make a 2 qt difference. How did you fill yours? Through the shifter or fill hole on the side of the transmission? There's another thread that recommends 2-2.5 qts for a RB20 transmission otherwise it squirts through the transmission vent when the transmission heats up. I really don't think 4 qts is right, but I have been wrong a couple times before.

kuillin_drifter - As far as bleeding the clutch line, I bought a bleeding system with rubber nipple connectors and a collector cup ($5 at sears). Fill the master cylinder with fluid (you can leave the cap off while bleeding). Leave the bleeder valve closed, pump the pedal a couple times and hold pressure on the last one. Open the bleeder valve and let the air bubbles out, then close when no more come out. Keep repeating this until you can't get any more out. Don't let the master cylinder go dry because it will go through quite a bit of fluid at first. Then, I switched to the slave cylinder bleeder valve and did the same thing. Took me a couple swaps between the two valves to get good pedal pressure, but it's wayyy easier if you can get somebody to help push the pedal for you. Also, I took the damper off, so I didn't have too much trouble.

I wasnt absolutely positive, but that is the number I found on the Aussie forums. The 25 transmission is WAY bigger than the 20.

If your car sees any action you might want to try a bottle of shockproof and the rest mt-90. This is what I use and it seems to work well. The harder I run the car the more shockproof I will run

ok went and put total of 3 qts of mobil 1 synthetic. and 1 qt of lucas 80/90w. Could not source the redline or shockproof. Took it for a drive and no more grinding gears. Still have a lil bit of a whine but it is quieting down considerably.

Thanks fellas. By the way everything is running fine.
