trani or clutch? z32 conversion?

so my 89 240 with redtop just got a full build with a act clutch and lightweight flywheel about 10,000 miles ago. For the past three or four months my car has been grinding when downshifting only into second. Lately it has been getting more and more difficult to get the car into 1st gear. Sometimes I have to put it in third in order to put it in 1st at a stop. If a leave it in first at a stop it bogs the motor and tries Make the car move, if I take it out of gear and put it right back in then it will idle fine and car won't move unless I let the clutch out. Any suggestions? If it is trans what companies make kits for the z32 trans besides mazworx? The trani is the only thing I havent done anything to for support.

I would check your clutch master cylinder. Rebuild kit for it is only $20, Or it might be your slave cylinder, and in that case I would upgrade to a 300zx one. (It is equivalent to the nismo one.)

My slave cylinder blew out a couple years ago. And got repaced. If one of the 2 go out donr you loose all pedal? Thats what happened when the slave went. I can still shift up easy through all the gears. Could my master be bad even though I can still shift? Where do I get a rebuild kit? I thought they just sell the whole unit.

You can get them at any auto parts store but the fact that you can gange up through the gears make me wonder if thats your problem. It's worth a try for how cheap it is.

So I blead the clutch today and it got a little better. I'm gonna rebuild it. I can get it for 9.50 through my work. Thanks for the help. After I rebuild it ill keep you posted. Someone told me if the throw out bearing colapses that could do it but in my experience it would make god awful noise.

also make sure your clutch pedal on the inside is adjusted correctly
