I just purchased a 09 sl yesterday and found this site.Great info already learned and glad it has alot of traffic.Im sure this has been asked before but I cannot find a search tab on this site.My question is, what is a good website to get a hitch and wiring?Looking for a wireing set that isnt universal if possible, sort of like the split plug in type used on most pick up trucks if Murano even has that open section in the wiring.I dont have car until tomorrow.I did find some hitches on sites like JC Whitney and americas favorite junkyard auction site but am a little worried these may actually be a universal pound and bend till it fits.I only have a 5x8 utility trailor rated at 2,000 lb and need a 2" reciever.Thank you.

Welcome to the Murano Forum!!! Glad to have you as a new member of NICOclub!

There is a thread here with pictures of several of the hitches out there, I would strongly suggest installing the hitch from Nissan. You can order one from http://www.courtesyparts.com or from your local dealer. The Nissan hitch is the best hidden, a lot of the other hitches stick out far from the back of the vehicle. Hope this helps!

I highly recommend the "Draw-Tite" Class-III receiver hitch. Good to 3500 lbs and with the aftermarket wiring harness (plug and play), it's only $200 total - shipping included. That's about one forth of what the factory hitch and harness will run you. I have nothing against he factory hitch, it's by far the most robust. It felt like it weighed 120 lbs..And if you have a few wrenches/sockets you can install the Draw-Tite and harness yourself in the driveway - no jacking or anything.

If you have questions on the below setup, let me know.

Checkout etrailer.com

Cheers and congrats on your Mo!!

That info should be in your owners manual.

I would think 2500 or less would be a conservative guess. The 09 is rated at 3500 yet much goes into that rating so one never knows if the 06 is the same etc.

Two bikes as in motorcycles or mountain bikes?? Two large motor bikes with trailer could come close to 2500lbs. Mountain bikes would be nothing.

Cheers

Our bikes are a 2003 Suzuki GSXR1300 Hayabusa and a 2006 Suzuki GSXR600 so the bikes together are about 1000lbs
