I am looking for a class 3 trailer hitch for my 1999 1/2 QX4. I can buy an aftermarket for about $200 as opposed to one from the dealer for much more. Is there an advantage to the OM hitch?

Probably higher quality and also purpose desigend for your vehicle.

Gotta make your own choice as for piority, keeping in mind that any frame damage due to towing, with a non OEM hitch will be hard to get warrantied.
