Do you have the premium and tech package?squik wrote:I have been trying to get rid of mine for a few months now....BMW, Audi and Subaru all offered way less then I was expecting for a fully loaded 3.5 CVT.
Well you are just a girl so you really don't need all the HP! Jokingjaxcoupe wrote:...And for all those that are going to say, "If that's what you're concerned about you should have gotten a 3.5," I'm fine with my 2.5, I just want maximum performance from it.
If you have lots of money, patience, and mechanical know-how you could always be the first to figure out a way to convert it from FWD to AWD and stay in the fam!squik wrote:Everything but Tech I should have said. Now don't thing I hate my car, just wanted something that was all wheel drive.
You're not going to see a difference in HP from the CVT to MT - they're both FWD cars. Both of them throw down 5.8 0-60's...no real difference there...jaxcoupe wrote:Thanks dangeris for your input. It actually is paid for..
Marlin - I know that it's probably a bad financial decision. I'm just concerned about the HP loss in the CVT vs the 6MT as well as the difference in fun-factor.. And for all those that are going to say, "If that's what you're concerned about you should have gotten a 3.5," I'm fine with my 2.5, I just want maximum performance from it.
I'll have to agree with you there. It is fun to drive and very quick. On the way home from the meet on Sunday, I had to pass someone on the passing lane. When I dropped it down from 6th to 4th and floored it, it took off like a rocket!marlin29311 wrote:...I love my CVT - passing on the highway is fun, and it's actually fun to drive, despite what everyone thinks. I agree that manual is more fun, but i really enjoy the cvt...
Well jeez, what job do you have? My boyfriend needs it so he can finally get me a pink Z like the one I've been admiring on my desktop for awhile nowdangeris wrote:

Really, I bought my wife an Acura TL Type S and it's quick! She's always driven stick until her ex bought her a minivan That's so degrading but every no and then she wishes she had a stick. Maybe I'll get her the 09 TL 6MT next year.
i think you are giving times for the 3.5marlin29311 wrote:Both of them throw down 5.8 0-60's...
where did you get your info from dude? They're both front wheel drive cars? The MT will put out more WHP than the CVT. The engine output is the same, but the hp you can actually use is greater in the MT due to less moving parts (the CVT rapes hp). Also, you rev limiter is higher in a MT and your TOP SPEED is higher in a MT. This is true on almost all cars when comparing MT to Auto versions. And, the fun factor in the MT is not even comparable. When test driving the CVT i didn't have that feeling of being in a sporty coupe at all, but when test driving the MT I told the sales dude to make up the paperwork and tell me where to sign.marlin29311 wrote:

I based my comments off recorded times - they both get the same 0-60 and nearly the same 1/4 (depending on driver). Sure, the MT might get a few more whp, but in our instance with a FWD car, it's not making that big of a deal.08altima35 wrote:
