I emailed the sale manager of my local Infiniti dealership if he could run me a figure if I decided to trade in my 2008 EX35 awd Journey base.

31K balance on Infiniti loan (includes 4 years Maintenance service). The G37X base $36,975 (Actual car) http://www.infinitinorthshore.com/new-i ... atureid=-1

VIN# JN1CV6AR8AM453892

My loan is a bit high due to a previous trade in from the Rav4 v6.

I`m paying around $620 on the current EX35 , the sales manager just ran a figure and he`ll take me out of the EX35 and will get the G37X out the door for $620 (I emailed him for the loan term, but I assume it`s 70 months)

Is this offer good or crap?

Do you live in Milwaukee? That is funny, I usually work with Chris at North Shore, I am getting a G37x for my wife this week, unfortunately they did not have the color in stock that we wanted and their deal wasn't as good.

You should contact Scott at Infiniti of Lisle (Chicago Area), they have some extremely aggressive deals, but you do have to "work" them a little. What I was looking at is about $4700 off the MSRP of a $43,000 G37x Sedan. Infiniti of Hoffman Estates is doing $4500 off any non-base Sedans. I would have purchased from Lisle but they have a car with the exact exterior and interior in Minneapolis, so my wife and I are headed there on Friday. Pretty much the same deal, but the nice thing was I really didn't have to negotiate much, I told him I didn't want to mess around, and give me your best price, so I really appreciated that.

Back to the numbers, in my case I was looking at a vehicle with an MSRP of $42,215, with a $4,000 discount and NO money down, doing the Infiniti 1.9% financing for 60 months, INCLUDING my 5.5% sales tax, my payment would have been just over $708. I guess it boils down to what they are giving you for your trade, and the actual discount they are giving you on the car. I wish I could purchase from North Shore, but they didn't have the car I wanted, and therefore the deal wasn't nearly as good as I am getting.

Let me know if you have any questions, I would be glad to help you out. If you need Scott from Infiniti of LIsle's e-mail, I do have it.

Thank you,
Timm :bigthumb:

Well here is my best guess at numbers. My guess would be that they are giving you the 72 month loan at 3.9%. This would be an out the door price of about $39,800, which comes out to 620.86 per month. Looking up your car and guessing at the milage (I guessed 24K) it should be about 26 to 27.8K trade in which makes you upside down 3 - 4K or so. If we go with those numbers you are getting the new 2010 for somewhere around 35,800 or so (won't be tax on the trade amount). So that doesn't seem like a very good deal to me anyway. Again, don't know the actual specs on your vehicle for trade in - all just guessing.

I'd wait till you weren't upside down to trade again - just my humble opinion :)

Thanks Timmbo for the offer. I decided to pay off the loan for now. I actually went straight to the big guy (Sales manager).
I never bought a car from out of state. How do you pay for the tax? What about transport fee? Plates ?

Spacy9: You are pretty close. It was a 72 months 3.9% . Trade in for EX35 is 25k , buy price for G37X is 34K ,not a good deal for barebone X. 5K upside down on loan. I don`t think Northshore is giving us a good deal, so I told him I`ll pass...:-) I was expecting them to get my EX35 for 26K or 27K (24k miles) and G37X barebone for 31K = 37k-38k includes tax 5.5% (includes upside down loan)

You could always sell outright. That's what I did with my 05 G35 coupe and came out ahead compared to what the dealer offered for a trade/difference in tax.
