The opertunity arrose to trade the "07 S HB Auto for An "07 SL HB with CVT and the convenience package. Turned out to be a good deal for us so far. I have a couple of questions for the experienced SL owners out there.

First, are the map lights suposed to work the same as the overhead light. I mean like when the door is opened or the car is unlocked, do they come on. Or are the just manualy operated. Mine only work when operated manually.

Second, I searched and read the threads about hooking an Ipod to the standard SL stereo. There was some question whether or not the stereo had to be the XM capible one, and if so why is that. There was also some comment on whether it was worth the cost.

Last thing. Since this was a used car, is there a way to get a copy of the window sticker from anywhere. That or run the VIN (Carfax doesn't tell those type of things) to tell me all of the installed options that were built into the car. It would just be nice to see that information. May just have to live with out some of that info. Price ya pay for not buying new I guess.

They are manually operated. They are on a separately switched circuit from the door/dome light so that they CAN operate with the doors closed without having to switch the dome light.

ANY MP3 player can hook into ANY SL stereo through the aux port, though in that configuration you have to use the MP3 player's controls. with the iPod interface, you can use the stereo's controls to operate the iPod. can't tell you anything about cost, as I don't own an iPod.

You can't get a reprint of the original window sticker, but they might be able to tell you what options it may have had installed at the factory. Port installed options such as mudflaps and door sills will not show up in this report.

Thanks EV for clearing the light thing up fo me. I appreciate your helpful information. I also finally found the schematic for that in the service manual I copied off of this site, page 99 in section LT. That really comes in handy when you remember that you have it.

Thanks too Bubs daddy for the copy of your window sticker. thats cool.

Don't think I could live with the an S since having the SL comforts.

Guess I should scan my window sticker as well, a nice to have incase something happens to the paper copy.

Congrats on the upgrade! When we bought my wife's Versa we never really even looked at the S when I saw that the SL had bluetooth. My wife spends a lot of time on her phone (job related) and I wanted her to have that feature. Well, that..and the armrest!!! After comparing the two models, we both felt that the features and material upgrades on the SL were well worth the price. Enjoy the new ride.

Thanks all for the support.

The S served us well for what it is. The Versa really is a nice car for the price. We just lucked into this SL and for just a little trade money we couldn't pass it up.
