They are manually operated. They are on a separately switched circuit from the door/dome light so that they CAN operate with the doors closed without having to switch the dome light.
Quote »Second, I searched and read the threads about hooking an Ipod to the standard SL stereo. There was some question whether or not the stereo had to be the XM capible one, and if so why is that. There was also some comment on whether it was worth the cost.
The "iPod interface" requires at least the Convenience package. ANY MP3 player can hook into ANY SL stereo through the aux port, though in that configuration you have to use the MP3 player's controls. with the iPod interface, you can use the stereo's controls to operate the iPod. can't tell you anything about cost, as I don't own an iPod.
Quote »Last thing. Since this was a used car, is there a way to get a copy of the window sticker from anywhere. That or run the VIN (Carfax doesn't tell those type of things) to tell me all of the installed options that were built into the car. It would just be nice to see that information. May just have to live with out some of that info. Price ya pay for not buying new I guess.
Call Nissan Consumer Affairs to see if they can get you this information. You can't get a reprint of the original window sticker, but they might be able to tell you what options it may have had installed at the factory. Port installed options such as mudflaps and door sills will not show up in this report.
