Dilemma time now. I'm sure a lot of you are in the same boat as me. I was waiting on the new car, but not totally impressed with the engine and it looks just ok. Should I trade in my 2009 Awd S for a 2013 and pay a difference of about $13,000 Cdn? It would be one of the cheapest Awd on the market in Canada at $25,000 on the road.

Having tested most of the competing models out there, they are about $4000 more for a similarly equipped car. I know the Rogue does bound over bumps, but it does do 0-60 faster than most in category, and I love the Overdrive off button.

It's a little easier in the US as you have set pricing already for the 2014 and can compare. The Nissan Canada $5000 rebate expires at month's end and the longer I wait, the less choice of color and options. What do you guys think?

What are you going to do with your own Rogues?

I wouldn't trade a 2009 in for another out going model. That is just me....

Ya, really wasn't considering it until I thought about vinyl wrapping the car and other mods to tie me through the next couple of years. The car has run perfect for me, but I thought about doing the shocks, etc.

Also, I think we were all expecting Altima - like power or an upgraded Juke engine. Why not?

I agree, I probably wouldn't trade for basically the same model. I think Nissan did not want to put a turbo in the Rogue because it is the second best selling car in their lineup. The premium fuel would probably turn some customers off. Also, they want to keep it similar to the Toyota and Honda in price and features. With gas mileage a big concern a bigger engine was not going to happen.

idk if you will win anything on the deal. they will absolutely hit you with every little thing they can to diminish the value of your present car. from every tiny scratch to the tires, to the brakes, to the mystical inspection they claim to do - they will claim of those things need to be checked and replaced (which they wont do unless a new buyer asks them to). i would stay put and drive it another year or so.

They are offering me $13,000 for my car, I was getting about $10,000 from Toyota and Mazda. I do like the current car a lot. It's a simple teardrop design. Kind of reminds me of 20 years ago and my 240sx. The 1995 redesign was better in every way, but mine was still smoother and much loved today.
