Trade in and rear seat dvd

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Thinking of trading in a 2006 lexus gs for the ex, any thoughts? Also, does anyone have pictures of a rear seat dvd installation and what was the price? Thanks

The closest Infiniti to the GS is the M - the new M37 is beautiful. One step down in size but great performance is the G37.

If you are looking at the EX35, make sure you are comfortable with the back seat size. As you are interested in back seat dvd players it sounds like you are planning to use it. The FX35 is worth looking at as well - a little more luxurious than the EX35 (cooled seats, more space). The FX35 has a headrest dvd player option available - don't know if they would fit in an EX35. On the 2010 it is possible to play dvds on the front screen when the car is not moving (or at least when the car thinks it is not moving).

Like yourself, I love the new M but I am really looking to get an almost even trade on when swapping the gs, so I think the ex fits in that range. I have two small kids so size is okay since its similar in size to the gs and we use my wifes big suv most of the time. Are the front seats good in the ex, that is one drawback to the lexus gs, the seats have no support. Thanks

If you've got a big SUV already, I'd suggest looking at the g37x pretty closely too. With the VPP discount the price is very good - a few k less than the EX35 and the seats are more "sporting". Pretty nice trunk too. I remember looking at the GS when I bought my Audi A6, I don't think the trunk was very big. The g37x - in my opinion at least - is a better sporting sedan than the EX35 is a SUV or crossover. On the other hand, we couldn't find a small SUV we liked better than the EX35.

My wife has the EX35 - again I would have preferred getting the M37 or a g37 but it was her decision and she really likes the raised SUV driving position. She is enjoying the car a lot now. Having her friends praise it a lot when they get inside is helping convince her she made the right decision. My son who is 15 and pretty much adult sized prefered my old Audi back seat to the EX35. He much prefers being up front in the EX35 as there are more gadgets to play with. Wife's previous car was a BMW X3 - I didn't like the front seats on long drives as I always seemed to get a pain in the small of my back - not a problem with my old Audi or my g37 or the new EX35 which has the premium package.

Was wondering why the rear video wasn't an option for the EX, as well. I did find some aftermarket headrest monitors that claim to match the interior color of the EX, but I'm not sure about wiring it to the factory DVD player.

Also, what about putting these headrest monitors in when you have the "active headrest" system? Will it still function, since it's just changing the angle of the headrest caused by your bodyweight pushing into the seat?
