please correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the 2.5S w/ prem package MORE EXPENSIVE than the 3.5ESE w/out premium ? ...ponchoxx2 wrote:Hi,I was thinking of going from 2.5s premium to 3.5SE but is it a wise move?I still owe like $22k on the loan for 2.5s.

Just checked, and yes, the 4 banger w/ prem pack is more expensive than the 6 banger without... strange!
in any case, owning a 2.5S sedan and a 3.5SE w/ prem pack., i'll say that I can appreciate the difference in power between the two. I love the sedan and the way it drives, and for a family car, it has all the get up and go I really need (i won't be racing anyone with my daughter in the car)
but if you're a power junkie like mcheddadi (no offense man, i just know you like power) then the step up is worth the trade in.
Curious, are you gonna get prem. package on the 3.5 SE also?
0-60 in 5.9 on paper. Have you actually raced the 745i?mcheddadi wrote:

this altima has to be the most powerfull and fastest car I have ever owned. my dad tried to one up me with his new 2004 bmw 745i with a v8 and 325hp, but it's soo heavy that it does 0-60 in 5.9 sec. mouhahaha!
can't wait for my turbo, can't wait for my turbo, can't wait for my turbo ...*rambles away*
I hear ya dood, I miss the A) turbo w/ updated CPU software from my GTI, B) the semi upscale interior of my `07 camry. I was thinking today if I should have 2 cars,,, similar to one of the previous guys who posted on here that he has a family car and the sporty a/c.prlwhitecoupe wrote:How does the 3.5 hold up against the Mazdaspeed 3??......I was thinking one day, that for the price that I picked up my 2.5 w/premium I could have bought a Mazdaspeed 3 and it would still be a little cheaper AND the finance rate would've been awesome at 1.9% rather than the 6% I bought the A/C at......
Don't get me wrong....I LOVE my Coupe..shes a sexy beast....but in terms for the most powerful NEW car I could've bought in the same price range..? In addition to the headaches I wouldn't have had to deal with in terms of fit and finish.
0-60 doesn't mean much especially with different drivetrains. If you can't beat a car that's only got 55 more hp but with over 1000 more lbs then you suck!SHIFT_2.5S wrote:

Yep pretty much, personally I like how if I want to I can have great gas mileage and have my tank last almost 2 weeks, or I can open it up and put a nice grin on my face.wild willy wrote:I have a 3.5..............And how often do you get the chance to use Or hell..How often do you need that much power.........
For me..It is pretty much never.......It's just nice to know you have it....It's kinda like having a couple thousand dollars in you wallet.....but never spending it..........It feels good to know its there.....
I honestly hear what you're saying and I don't want anyone to trade in a car simply for performance, but then why does anyone buy a fast car? The Altima coupe 3.5SE with a 6 speed is not fast on a performance stand point but for me it satisfies style, performance, luxury, and economy. I don't beat my car but I can't imagine going down 95hp as much as I get on it…. If you're an enthusiast, the VQ is great and you probably will open it up often. Besides, it's not like we're all street racers here. Why get the 3.5, it's definitely a "it's nice to know I have it" feeling more than anything.wild willy wrote:I have a 3.5..............And how often do you get the chance to use Or hell..How often do you need that much power.........

That may be true, but if I wanted to buy a boat I'd sure take a M45 over a 745li. Shave 300lbs and a hell of a lot more ballswild willy wrote:

duh! I have one in my driveway... since it's an automatic, it's not the drivers fault if it's slower than my coupe. 5.9sec for an automatic is always 5.9sec no matter how you push the pedal.SHIFT_2.5S wrote:

not fast on a performance stand point? you must not be driving the same car as I? "MY CAR" will run past 07 mustang gt's, stock g35 coupes, rx8's, audi 2t's... these are just a few that i've raced and won so if the a/c 3.5 vq se is not fast on a performance stand point, i'm not sure where you points begin and end. sure it's no 150k exotic sports car, but it's pretty damn quick.Robs_altima wrote:

and to the fella wanting to go to from a 2.5 to a 3.5 just go to the dealership and see if it's something you can't live without after taking a test drive. my test drive sold me instantly and i use the extra power the 3.5 offers everyday and i only live about 4 miles from my work.
I love it fellas, keep it coming.. you guys have the most friendly rivalry on NICO.. we're gonna have to start giving out superlatives....mcheddadi wrote:
