2.5S base model Altima to a brand new Nismo 350Z...man, everyone else is suffering from the recession, you must have gotten a big promotion...not getting too much into your business, but that's a hefty leap up in the monthly payments! If you can afford to do it COMFORTABLY I saw go for it... but if you're doing it to keep up with the Jones's, or give the appearance of doing so....kuhan wrote:Just went to Nissan dealership today asking to trade my 07 Altima 2.5S sedan for a red 08 350Z Nismo.

No promotion. I always love the 350Z, especially Nismo edition. And now with 09 370z arriving and they can't get rid of 08's, I'm ready to pick one of those 08 discounted Nismos.rjdmmfl1 wrote:

Thanks beeristasty. I'm pretty sure Carmax would give me a similar price or less for my altima. At first, they quoted my car for $10,900 . I know I'll lose alot of money with the trade. That is why I'm hesitant about buying the Z.beeristasty wrote:If you're set on the nismo z, I'd look into maybe selling your Altima locally (I couldn't live with trade in amount unless I paid ~19-20k for the car). If you do trade it in, I'd get another quote from Carmax or another dealer, and see if they'll match it if it's higher.
I love everything about the nismo z's bodykit, minus for the obnoxious rear diffuser. The only color I think it looks decent in is black. But I digress... Anyways, good luck with whatever you decide.
Dude, life's short! If you can afford to do it, and its what you want.... do it!!! You already paid off the Altima. You'd only have to finance 18K... on a 3 year finance plan, at a decent APR, you're looking at ~500/month.. with 5K down, financing 13.5, you're at, what, $375/monthkuhan wrote:

Thanks bro, you're a great help. I did a little calculation and with 60 months with 6% APR = roughly $400/monthrjdmmfl1 wrote:

again... don't let us determine your happiness... if you can afford it, I say go for it!
Dude, don't get me wrong, I love my A/C... but the Z is legendary... the A/C and the G are both spinoffs of the original thing. whether taking the platform and upscaling it, or taking the design, and downscaling/blending it into the A/C... there was only one original car.. the Z.kuhan wrote:thanks everyone for your opinions and suggestions.
I have decided not to buy this nismo, but probably will trade in for a 2008 Enthusiast Model
2008 350Z EnthusiastUsed4,800 Miles
Price: $21,998 Will try to negotiate for $20,000
*I will have more money to mod this car the way I want it.
What do you think?

Make sure you get an insurance quote before you make your move. The Z can be expensive to insure, even more than the G which costs more to purchase.kuhan wrote:Just went to Nissan dealership today asking to trade my 07 Altima 2.5S sedan for a red 08 350Z Nismo.

I agree 100%dangeris wrote:Great Choice Kuhan. Half the fun of modding is getting something and building it to what you want it to be
yeah right... I'm still in training... even after you get your MD, you have to go through residency.... most folks are surprised to find out that Residents (which are MD's) only start out at ~ $40K / year... then it goes up about 1500-2000 per year after that. Its not until you get you full appointment that you make any real 6 figure money ($250K+)dangeris wrote: Robert, did you order that SL65 AMG Black yet?
