I have a very basic understanding of how the LSD and TCS systems work on a Q45 but would like to understand how they operate in the real world situations. I don't see why both are required. If only one wheel is skidding does the LSD work and the TCS doesn't need to operate under this condition. If both wheels are skidding I can understand that the TCS will activate. Why did Infinity just rely on the TCS system alone?

It is kinda weird to have both... LSD is much less common these days. LSD redistributes power to the wheel that has traction mechanically, while TCS cuts power to the wheel that's spinning (not sure if via brakes or halfshaft or both).

To make matters more confusing, 350Z and G35 coupe say they have LSD but they have a "brake LSD", not a viscous LSD like Q45. It uses brakes to mimic effect of LSD.

With snow tires in winter neither are that important. Summer tires in summer also make them irrelevant for most driving. If you tires stick when they're supposed to, you don't need help.

TCS uses the brakes..... Also there is an extra air cutoff valve in the intake tract to limit engine torque......

TCS calibrated for soft factory oem tires, most run harder tires and see the bad side like pulling out in front of a semi..........buuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, whomp.............crash.

Are Yokohamas AVS db's suitable for use with the TCS system?
