Hi everyone,

I want to apologize first for my english, I speak french, so I will try to do my best to be correctly understand.

During all the winter long, I tried with my Rogue 2009 SL AWD to do some drift. Quite simple, when I take corner, with a certain angle, I press the gaz to "kick" the rear and drift. Since I have the TC, it isn't working because my Rogue detect that the car is loosing control. So, I turn off this gentle option and did some try and I have to say, Rogue SL AWD + Nokian hakkapeliitta 5 SUV = unbelivable traction, so pretty hard to do drift on different condition.

Since about 2 weeks, when there is little snow on the road, I can easily drift the Rogue WITH the TC ON. In fact, sometime, it looks like my Rogue didn't know that I'm drifting. I have to use the correct method with angle and it looks like when all the 4 tires spins (I think the 4 is spinning), the TC isn't working. I'm not afraid about that, in fact, I'm able to drift mostly like I have my old subaru impreza, except I'm a elephant now (the weight of the car). Also, I noticed that if I'm a stop or light and I accelerate quickly straight, the care can move left to right (like my old subaru), but the TC is not flash in my dash.

So my conclusion is that the TC is working only all the wheels are not spinning. Is my understand correct? I'm sure is more complexe, but globally, how it sounds? Or do you think I have a problem with my computer for the TC?

Thanks everyone.

This is not a problem. This is normal for this car. The light will not always come on but the TC will always keep track of your driving condition. If there was a minor drift like less than a sec then most likely you won't see the light on which means the slip wasn't serious.

Unless you press the VDC OFF button so that the "VDC OFF" light illuminates (just beside '8' on the tachometer), your TCS/VDC system is working. The 'Slip' indicator (also displayed on the tachometer dial) should flash a bit when the tires spin.

Since the VDC/TCS system are integrated with the Anti-Lock brakes, you would need to have a complete failure of the ABS system to have no functioning TC!
