track questions

I live close to california speed way, im just wondering can i just show up to the track and start drifting? Or do i have to join somkinda event.... like HPDE to be able to use the track.

or try other events like D101 or local track days. search track days and see if someone is gonna have a willow springs event soon. im sure they are.
