i will be heading down to Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ on friday night Mar. 27th, 2009.

gates open @ 5pm, but i will try and get there for 4:30pm before they open.

this event is for all street-muffled vehicles, so there will be no loud annoying american muscle cars there to ruin the fun.

hopefully if there arent much cars, i can get in more than 4 or 5 runs to really get my car dialed in properly!

this i believe will be the first friday Test & Tune they have this year, so lets get an early start on the racing year.

so who is interested in going?

I thought MAYBE they put in a little autocross, guess not.

I was born in Staten Island, moved to Manalapan NJ (basically the nice town next to e-town) when I was 12 and they put metal detectors in my jr HS....

Went to Hofstra on Long Island, and then never left.

When I lived in NJ, I was SUPER CLOSE to the track (but I had no interest back then ) and on sundays in the summer you could hear the engines of some of the cars from my house.

You guys gotta stop thinking that way!

Last year at carlisle, infront of several hundred spectators I was whipping my car around the autocross with a big smile

Sure I probably had the slowest car there... Sure everyone else was on "lightweight" wheels and I had heavy 20s.... but its about having a good time and enjoying the experience!

No one was laughing at me, you gotta start somewhere!

am i the only one that thinks that expensive? i know my local track is $7 to spectate and $15 to race..... unless you go on some special event and the prices can very up to $50 to race

In my opinion, prices for things have always been pricier here than in other places.

Taking into account the last time i was in Cali, Thai Cuisine (my FAV) was like 5$ a plate, over here in Jersey like 10-12. sucks

really? i always heard it was cheaper there... everyone i know of thats gone to jersey, the first thing they say is that when they order Pizza its cheap (or the same price) but like 10 times the size lol

i guess it depends where u go.. i get slices for like $1.75-2.50, primarily around 2.25. And when i was in Cali, it was around Berkeley/college area, i'm guessin, so food was cheaper?

Regarding track tho, def see esp. in another thread that prices are more expensive here than say cali or texas, i didn't really focus on other states. I'm assuming that it's cuz of space? more space in cali and texas to build a track and there is enough of a crowd to make it cost effective but mebbe in NJ not so much. Just my .02 cents

ok, so who IS going to the track.

and yes jersey pizza is mad cheap, but its soo good, and its the same size as NY pizza.

and dont be scared to run your car, thats how you gain experience, and at least you wont be like the rest of the chicken-s***s that dont run their car at the track.
