Trace control supposedly will apply brakes to individual wheels (while cornering), so if some wheels are braked more often than others, I could see these leading to uneven wear.ImStricken06 wrote:stability control is nothing more than a computer checking the for wheel slip, and strange side to side movement. it will cut power.
where are you getting "uneven brake wear" or "premature wear" from ??
Thanks. I haven't noticed much difference with it on or off, but I haven't really driven it that hard. Guess I might as well just leave it on. I bought it used, and I realized it was off after going through the settings. Previous owner must've disabled it for whatever reason.ImStricken06 wrote:i wouldnt worry about it. its going to apply gentle pressure, otherwise it would pull you to one side and cause serious instability. this is a total gimmick of a system. i wish nissan would get its head out of its rear, and back under the hood where it needs to be. back to the times when nissan stood for 200,000 quality, and value. now it stands for odd designs and useless features..... like a honking TPMS system, and 'trace' system.
Yeah, I hear you on that. I don't mind a bit of help, but I don't always trust these automatic systems to do it right. I typically leave the stability control turned on with my "fun" car (Camaro SS), but it's easy to turn off when in the mood for some burnout goodnessImStricken06 wrote:i hate all computer intrusions. i know how to drive, and dont need a computer glitch to f-me up. i turn OFF stability systems in the snow because i want power there, to drift out a fish-tail. all of these system cut power and just let you slide out of control
