TPS voltage at tps is .45 but .28 at the ecu...

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

Yeah, I checked tps and it's .45, but at the ecu it's somehow losing some signal and reading .28. Do you think I have a short? Or is there just that much voltage drop?

I don't know if I should tear into the harness and look for a little short, or if I should just set it so that it reads .45 AT the ecu.

I also found that the 2nd plug on the tps (for automatic) had to be hooked up on my car for it to not stall when I came to a stop. I think my ecu is from an automatic Cefiro, and that's why it needed to be hooked up.....

I would run a new line fromt he TPS to the ECU just to be safe......

Might have old oxidized wires somewhere causing extra resistance.

Well nevermind that part, since I got that new switch hooked up that's with the tps, they both read within .03 volts of each other isntead of .3..heh.

It now shuts the injectors off when I let off the gas instead of just stumbling its way down.

The only problem is that when I do go from no gas to a little gas while cruising, when that idle switch opens the car jerks, it's like nothing happens until the switch opens and bamm...it's set at .5 volts idle where it is supposed to be.

Any thoughts on making it smoother?

How do you know for sure that its shutting the injectors right off? are you monitoring the injector pulse?

Are you monitoring the TPS signal real time now also?

1. Can hear it idling down smoothly2. Monitoring a/f ratio (goes to 25:1)3. Monitoring injector duty (Multichecker)4. I went under the hood and revved it and could hear them stop clicking (they're very loud 550's)
