hay there iv got a r32 with rb20det witch started idleing funny so did a ecu check witch came back with TPS problem so i did all the tests you can do on the TPS i also have a spare throttle body i check to match it up with the one on my engine

what i wonna know is when you test for signal voltage from ecu witch should be 5volt with key on but is this ment to be 5volt on both signal wires or just the signal supply , im getting 5volt on signal supply and the other signal wire reads between 3 and 4volt is this correct

any help be great

signal wire should read around 0.5 volts when idling and close to 4.7-5 volts at wide open throttle

My rb26 tps wires are black, white, red.

Black is ground
White is signal
Red is power

Red gets power from ecu at 5v ign on.
White should be 0.45v closed throttle and 4.5v wot ign on.

My issue is that i adjusted mt tps to be .47v closed. When i fully opened the throttle (wot), it reads 4.27v.

Think tps is bad?

Hope this info helps OP

vref is 5v, signal can vary all over the place but normal is considered 0.5-4.5v closed/wot.
voltages can vary greatly but as long as the tps responds in a liner manner it will be fine.
