im an owner of a 240sx 90 stock ...

i start up the motor... it idles at 750-800 (170k miles on it) .. and here is the question...

if i idle and i disconect the tps switch... goes up rmps ??? and if i conect it again.. it goes to 750-800 rmps??

i have an intermitent drop-goes-up of rmps and i havent vacuum leaks... but the wires are damaged and i remplace all the wires that come to injectors.. fast idle solenoid... etc etc... but i dont replace the wires from tps...

help me with the question of tps switch .. i have an auto trans.

when you disconnect the tps the idle goes up because it freezes the ignition timing and idle control. if this was happening intermitantly the car would prob run bad when it was happening. when it happens, drive it and see if it still has power. also, if the tps was going open the auto would not shift right.

tps switch has 3 wires and only that uses 2, i make reference those 2 wires into the switch.
