mt tps voltage read 5 volts at close idel and .4 at wide open

place your negetive of your tester on the negetive battery post and the positive lead of your tester on the center wire to the tps and try again.

im getting voltage at the connector but reverse reading, my ka harness was converted over to sr

then something is wired wrong, is the 12volts going in the right terminal of the connector?

im going to swap wire over, but just wondering if this can cause any driveabilty problems with the voltage reading revese.

It can, but I'd be more concerned with finding anything else that may be wired wrong. Feeding the ecu a voltage that is incorrect can be annoying at best. Feeding the ecu a voltage that it wasn't expecting on a wire that wasn't expecting it can cause damage. ("sending" it ground when it's trying to "send" it's own 14v is an extreme example...)

i hook a lead from neg battery then pos to back of connector and was reading the correct reading thanks
