What up guys. I have a problem with that damn sr20det engine. lol. Anyhow, i have a couple of other threads with problems that ive gone over on this car. But im having a problem with the TPS i believe. My car is having rough/idle/backfire issues atm. Ive gone in and cleaned the IACV and gave it a new gasket. Checked all my injectors and voltage on each. They all read 12v. Got new plugs gapped at .35. And now i was trying to set my TPS according to some specs/stats that i found online. Says the TPS is supposed to read at .45v. The problem im having is that when i put the red pin in the middle plug and ground the blad it only reads .14. WTF? Anyhow i adjust it while im trying to read the voltage and nothing at all changes. So i plug it back in car changes idle, i unplug and car is at higher idle. Than i turn it off, put it to accesories on and try to read it again unplugged middle prong...and again i have .14v. Does that mean i have a faulty TPS and if so would a faulty TPS give me backfire/idle issues? Thanks

the voltage is only to adjust your tps, you want to check ohms to make sure its good...

check the resistance between pin 1 and 2

Completely closed Approx. 2 ohms

Completely open Approx. 10 ohms

If test shows "No Good", replace Throttle Sensor.

you're probably reading the supply voltage, you're looking for voltage drop or resistance
