Rb25 Series 2

With the TPS plugged in, you can see the timing mark seems to be kinda erratic, but still lines up with the stock timing degree. When you unplug the TPS, the idle is a little smoother and you can see the timing mark stay more stable and the timing gun lights up faster.

The TPS voltage checks out though. RB25 S2 with only the bottom plug, plugged in (on the TPS)

Is it going out/gone? What symptoms would a bad TPS give?

normal.

thats why you disconnect the TPS to set your base timing.

some ppl can set their timing with teh TPS connected (like me) but some cant. With my TPS connected my timing seems to jump. prolly cuz my idle doesnt stay stable. with it connected my idle holds perfect at 700rpm so it works great for me to set my timing.
