I've got an issue with my tps circuit. I checked the wiring from the connector end to the ecu, I have continuity on all three wires. I have 5 volt from ecu to sensor, I have a solid ground, but when checking for 5v out of the tps no power even though the wiring circuit to the ecu checked out ok. I have installed a new tps sensor, and I have used two ecus. no luck. I have ecutalk, and ran the closed throttle input which seems to be working, but there is no 5 volt reference shown there, or with a DVOM. Has anyone run into this before? Is there something on the s13 harness that could cause the ecu to not allow the tps signal to not work? I'm really scratching my head on this one, and any help would be awesome. I would like to also mention, the ecutalk shows a tps fault, and with KOEO the fault stays perm. like the ecu is trying to see the tps but can't further validating it.

I found a wiring diagram just now, and see there is a ground connection(pin 60) that ties into the signal voltage wire(pin 38) I'm thinking when I get off work today I'm going to jumper a wire from that wire to the other wire to see if it allows for signal voltage operation. Anyone have to do this or see this issue before?

well that didn't help at all, any ideas? anyone? I can't imagine the new tps sensor I bought is bad too.

verify that there is continuity between the sensor signal on the tps plug and the pin at the ecu.

I did carl H, Before I bought a new sensor and installed I deemed that sensor bad, but going through the FSM for rb20, I looked for the 5v power supply from the ecu, the ground side, and the signal wire. I checked for continuity on all three wires, as well. all the wires were good, I had the 5v and the ground being good, and then checked for the voltage coming out of the signal wire, there was none( on the original tps sensor) so I bought a "new" sensor from a company in aus. When I got the new sensor, I installed, and checked for signal voltage with my ecu talk. there was none. SO I rechecked the wires again. everything checked out fine, and then when I was checking for signal voltage out, I had no signal voltage. Could it be the "new" sensor I bought was also bad? I'm really at a lose of words right now. I just came in from the garage after checking it all over again with my father just so I know I wasn't loosing my mind. I also checked the resistance in the sensor per the fsm, and it worked, but for some reason I'm not getting anything out. Is there anyone out there reading this with a tps sensor for sale that They KNOW the sensor works properly?

Would the close throttle sig. side of the tps sensor cause the signal voltage reference to not work? If so how would you go about checking that? All you could do is check for continuity on the wires right?
