i checked the codes on my SOHC today and got a 43 indicating a bad tps. i dont know if i should replace the whole thing or try a new grounding point. there are 2 sets of wires running into the tps. one is from a plug held on by a metal clip and other is plastic plug that plugs into another connectorl. the first one i mentioned has 3 prongs that attach to the plug but mine only has 2 of them intact and after pulling off the lil. boot on the end of the plug i see there are only 2 wires leading into the plug. should there be 3 wires or 2? and also if i were just going to ground the tps itself what ground wire would i use? one from the plug itself or one from the 3 that are attached directly inside to the tps. this may not make sense sorry.

Theres 3 wires on the plug. 5V, ground and signal -> ecu.

The ground isn't a chassis ground so you can't just ground it to whatever you feel. It is a sensor ground that runs back to the ecu.

Edit: Doh, I missed the sohc, i'm just used to assuming it's an sr. I don't know what the wires on a sohc ka are but you will have those 3 that I mentioned above and the same holds true for it being a sensor ground.
