Trying to adjust my TPS using feeler gauges but there is a gap between the drum screw and the throttle stop. I let the vehicle warm up as per the manual and the gap never closed tight enough to use feeler gauges. The vehicle is used to me so maybe someone adjusted the drum screw? Ideas as to why that gap would be present? 2002 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab 4x4 Vg33er

Update: based on the pink (red?) paint on the drum screw from the factory someone had backed it off at some point. I returned it to the original paint makes and it appears the gap will be closed when the vehicle warms up. At that point I should be able to use the gauges and set the TPS!
