TPS: 1.16kohms when released....8.5 kohms depressed...is it bad?

the fsm says it should be approximately 2kohms when released and about 10kohms when depressed.....is the tps garbage.....i have been having issues concerning tps...thanks

When you say released and depressed are you talking about the gas pedal? If so, then it sounds like the TPS just needs to be readjusted. It has two screws. Just loosen them and rotate the TPS as necessary.

If the meter you're using is digital, you'll need to give it a second to autorange and settle on a reading before it gives you anything useful. If you mean it read high for a split second, that's normal.
