hey my beautiful mates, i've read through a crap ton of threads to try to narrow down my problem, i think i'm just an idiot, but i couldn't find it sorry!

after i had my tires rotated 2 months ago (since then i've driven 1000+ miles), my TPMS monitoring on the center screen has been 2 asterisks for all 4 tires, i've had my tires rotated many times in the past and every time after they'd reset after like 50ish miles within days... also the low pressure light on the dash will come and go within 10-15 minutes of starting the car and driving

please i'm not sure what my next step should be from here:

do i need to take it to the dealer and just pay to have it reset or did the bodyshop that did my tire rotation which was just a local Midas completely remove the sensors altogether or something?

You're right that it should take effect after driving 50mph+ for 15 minutes or so...if your's aren't doing that now...they might have done something to them.

I'd just mention it to Midas and they can check pretty quick to see if your valve stems are their standard issue stems or OEM-like. Most places I've been to couldn't work on Nissan TPMSs, so the dealership would be next and get a report of what the cause is. If it's Midas-related, pass the bill on.
Out of curiosity, what are the manual pressure readings on your tires?

Bring the car to a real tire store for a check. My tire store (STS/Mavis - large chain) has no issues replacing or rebuilding the sensors. I just rotated my tires and had 1 new sensor replaced and got new readings within 1 minute of fast driving.

HI,...I believe the sensors batteries are only good for about 10 years so you may need to replace the sensors.

Take it to where you got your tires rotated and tell them you need your TPMS system reprogramed. A lot of cars don't automatically reset (mostly American vehicles in my experience) and will display tire PSI for the wrong positions after a rotation. When I bought my M, the tire psi read ** for all 4 positions even after driving it for 8 hours straight. Brought it to the shop I was working at during that time and used a scan tool to reset the TPMS system. It took 5 minutes. Any tire shop should have one of these scan tools. Usually, there is a fee for the reprogram but it shouldn't be an issue to have them reprogram it if you are a frequent customer.

I just had four new tires put on my 07 M35 and the TPMS went out, getting the two asterisks like Europeene described above. The guy at the tire place tried to do a reset, that didn't do it. Not sure what to do next. The stems were working fine, and I manually checked the pressure for each tire.

Any tire shop should have a reading tool. They hold that little gizmo near each wheel and it should detect that the sensors inside the wheel are sending a signal. If no signal is detected, the TPMS are not working. If a signal is received by the gizmo, the TPMS are performing but the car is not receiving. That means either the sensor in the car has gone titz up or the TPMS / car needs reprogramming. I had to go to Infiniti once for a reprogramming - if I remember, it was about $150.

If the sensors have gone bad I was able to find replacements at http://www.titantpms.com/ for fairly cheap. Tire kingdom was wanting to charge me $150 for one sensor when I was able to buy the whole set for that price through this site.
