Hey everyone,

Wanting to get opinions on this.....just put on my snow tires and found out the tire guys didn't take the TPMS out of my summer tires, so now Ive got my TPMS light on. Initially I was going to just get new sensors for the snows so I wouldnt have to haul my summer tires back to have them take the sensors out and put them in my snows. But Nissan tells me its $103/ea sensor! Not wanting to fork over $400 + for damn sensors. SOOOOOOO, do I go to all the trouble to get the sensors switched or do I run the snows with no sensor and stare at the TPMS light for the winter? What do you guys do? Thanks for the imput!

My stock tpms sensors had clearance problems on my savini wheels, they stuck up to high and they could not put the tires on. I purchased some after market ones that had a swivel valve stem from http://www.RevolutionSupply.com with no issues. They were $48 for the orotek brand. Discount tire installed them and reset the tpms light for free. Have had them on the ac for a little over 2 years with no problems. You can google them and find some really good deals on them.

dont worry about it .. if you switching on just for the winter , leaving the TPMS off will only cause the lgiht to go off.. if you can ignore the light everything is fine.

I rock my summers with no TPMS. The light just stays on all the time and you get used to it. Just have to be sure to actually check the pressure once a week or so, maybe more so for winter months.

Not lazy...borderline broke thanks to this car! Not paying for the extra sensors or the labor to swap them, I can deal.

Not worth it IMO, Nissan wants $250+. It's apparently a "deal" since it's $75 per Wheel. :rotfl

I can live with the TPMS light on the dash.

In Texas we don't have to switch out tires for winter

just wanted to rub it in

But like someone said above, there's other brands to get besides the Nissan brand, if it really bothers you just go to discount tire/firestone and see what they can do for you.

Thanks guys.....I think I'll go without & go back to periodic checking with a TP gauge for the winter...the coupe is the first car I've had that has TPMS, so it's not like I'll miss it much, though it is kinda nice to have. Even paying $49/ea, adding labor will put it over $300...if I'm gonna spend that kind of money, might as well get a C-mod grille instead!!! 8-)

you can buy TPMS sensors from ebay for like $100, then get a tire company to put them into your tires for you. they won't rape you like the dealership. but you will have to go back to the dealership to get them programmed to your car, which i hear they charge about $100 for. so you're still looking at $250ish for the whole process, but it'll be a one time cost.

i just go without tpms, leave the light on, for both my summer and winter wheels.

I believe you would have to pull the dash cluster and un-solder the LED which if you aren't very careful could cause damage to the circuit board, then you're screwed.
