No reprogramming is needed, I change my wheels in the winter, as well, I just had the TPMS moved from stock to my work emotion wheels not reprogramming needed.KGNickl wrote:Have the stock steel wheels on my car now and picked up a set of 350z wheels (w/out TPMS sensors). Going to have the sensors swapped from the steel wheels to the 350z wheels. One place said they can do it, but the sensors will have to be reprogrammed. I was under the impression since I'm using the same sensors (just in different wheels....) that they will not have to be reprogrammed? Please post your knowledge or experience with this. Thanks
I had a different experience.... I replaced my wheels, and put the TPMS senrors in the aftermarket wheels... it worked fine for a while, but then, one day, the light came on, and it hasn't gone off since!spockrock wrote:

you should try putting air in the tires then.... kidding, on a different but related note, im assuming the TPM sensors work off of a battery, how long does that battery last, or am i way wrong which is possible, anyone?rjdmmfl1 wrote:

i don't know if i'm right....i think i might have the same experience as u did.i put the g37 rims on.....it was ok for a week or a little longer....but then the light came up all the sudden like 2 nights ago....i wonder what's wrong with it...rjdmmfl1 wrote:

Sean, I was thinking the same thing, the only problem with that is that some folks have put aftermarket rims/tires on their car and not had to re-program the sensors.... seems to be a bit inconsistentInfantry1327 wrote:I dont know for sure, but I am pretty sure they need to be re programed.
Since you have upgraded to a different sized wheel and tire, I would assume that the tire pressure would be different. Our sensors are programmed for the stock wheels and tire pressure. So i would assume they haft to be re programmed to acomidate the new tire pressure.
But again I could be wrong
i have factory caps on all 4spockrock wrote:For those with the lights on, check the caps, when my TPMS light was on the first time I changed winters back to the stock wheels the air valve cap was missing from a single wheel. When I went to Nissan for a service appointment. I talked to the parts guy, he was like I got a bunch, and then asked me if I had TPMS on my wheels, I said yes, and then was like hold on he needs to check if he had those. He did, I put the cap on and started the car and poof light was off. The technician was saying I would need the TPMS reset even though he looked at the car. The problem maybe with the caps. I am not sure but caps are metal, and the only thing I can think of is non conductive caps do not complete the circuit so it thinks the caps are missing. Do you guys have aftermarket air valve caps???
