I recently got a set of 4 TPMS sensors (not Autel) sent to me for free. I'm going to put them on my dedicated winter wheels/snow tires, and hopefully finally have the TPMS light on my dash turn off for the winter. The sensors sent were supposed to be for my year, make, and model vehicle.
Sam's Club says they weren't able to program them. I don't think they even looked at them to tell you the truth. I think they just didn't want to do the job (a little unmotivated?).
I go to another place that deals exclusively with tires and they said that they could only program Autel sensors and not these. With that said, he pulled out his TPMS tool and held it by the box of sensors and he got readings from all 4 sensors and said they were already programmed for the vehicle. He told me all he had to do is mount the valve stems, and "re-learn" the car to see the sensors. Does that sound about right?
Also, he said that when I switch back over to my summer wheels I'm going to have to have the car relearn those original sensors, and that every tire swap I'll have to bring it in for the relearn. Does this sound right?
Lastly, I see these devices on Amazon for TPMS sensors. Are these devices what I might need to relearn the car at each swap, or are they solely for the initial programming of the sensors themselves?
