I had a GM rental that did have that feature. That is if you could find your way thru the menus to get to it.All I remember about that car is it was a POS compared to my GRichardnVA wrote:On my way to work the yellow tire symbol showed up on the dash... uh oh! I had just dropped my daugther off at day care and partially parked in a small snow bank on side of the car. It was still snowing so the snow was not frozen so I wasn't too concerned, until I got back in the car and the TPMS light came on. At first I thought it might be some snow stuck in the wheel giving a false alert, so I pulled over and took a look at the tires. The pressure looked okay on all 4 so I had to manually run my hand over each tire to try and find something. Sure enough, a pan head screw right in the middle of the tread. Since the pressure was still good I drove straight to the nearby Infiniti dealer which was only about 8 miles away. Called them on the way and they plugged it without a problem. Too bad the G's don't have the individual monitors like the M's. I like being able to see what the pressure is at each tire, and it would have let me know which tire was losing pressure vs. having to grope around on a dirty tire trying to find the nail. FWIW, thought I'd share.
Did they plug it or patch it??? Thought most places were doing patches now due to tire warranties.RichardnVA wrote:On my way to work the yellow tire symbol showed up on the dash... uh oh! My Acura TL and my wife's MDX show the actual tire pressure on each tire. This helped avoid the "what does LOW mean?" or how low is low? and you don't have to worry about the resetting the sensors every time you rotate the tires. I'm a little obsessive about my tire pressure, and it was nice to be able to see the actual pressure on the display. I''m surprised Infiniti doesn't do this.Poyzinous wrote:it was available in the M and the FX and Q45 just to be cool. But it kinda got scrapped because it became annoying when customers would complain about the monitor saying "LF tire low" when it was fine, and the RR was the low one. They thought the system would magically adjust whenever you did a tire rotation. When the tires get rotated, you should have been doing it at the dealer so that they could reprogram the sensors to their respective location on the car. Thats all I believe.
