TPMS Question please help.

I did search and couldn't find the exact answer to my question. Anyways, I bought a set of the 350z track rims off a guy with a 350z, but he wants the sensors. My question is, can the sensors be removed and replaced with a regular valve stem? I called a few tire shops and they refused to work with them which made me wonder if there was something special that had to be done.
