I just got new rims and tires and slapped em on the car and don't have sensors. I have sensors in my old rims but I don't have the skill or tools to switch them over. That little orange light annoys the s*** out of me. Does anybody have any ideas on how to either turn the light off or where to switch the sensors over or where to get new sensors without breaking the bank

As far as i know you can't switch the sensors off. If you dont like the yellow warning light then your gonna have to fork over between 65-80$ per tire

it only cost $15 a tire to get em moved over and balanced at any tire store store in NY, i wouldnt expect it to cost that much more wherever you are. The light turns off as long as the sensors are in the wheel.

That's strange, if a shop can put on/take off a tire they can switch the sensors no prob.I wouldn't want them working on my car if they turned down that rudimentary task.

Be prepared for a $60-$100 service charge to switch the sensors from your old wheels to the new ones. They will essentially have to mount 8 tires to get the job done. Should have had it done when you installed the new wheels/tires if you wanted to save $.

One of my sensors went bad and the dealer wanted almost $400 to replace it. I took the gauge cluster apart and put a piece of electrical tape between the gauge face and the LED for the TPMS light. It's still back there blinking but no one will ever see it or the tape. Glad to have mine permanently disabled.

I've been thinking of doing something like that; probably 3/4 of the time in my 6 years of owning this car the TPMS light has been on while having proper inflation in all tires. You've also answered a question I've had; the light is a soldered in LED and not a bulb?

Correct. It is an LED soldered to the board. Since it's directional covering it with the tape under the gauge face is sufficient since there isn't is light bleeding around the edges of the indicator.

Town Fair Tire switched the sensors, balanced all 4, and gave me an alignment for 85$ so thats good. No sensors broke (so they say) however after i turned my car off and turned it back on, the light came back on....... guess im going back tomorrow -_-

Did you try driving the car for a bit after checking that the pressures were ok? If I have a low tire and the light comes on, it takes a few miles for the light to go off once I air the tire back up.

Also, sometimes if the sensors are out of range of the car long enough they have to be reprogramed. I've had this done a time or two and it was free. They (dealership) just hold a handheld unit next to each wheel to sync them back up, takes like 10 mins.

If your TPS light flashes when you start your car the service manual says you may have a bad sensor. If it comes steady no flashing should be just low pressure.
On my car, I have the problem of in very cold temperatures and driving a short time and then turning into a driveway, the bump of the curb has set off TPS light flashing. Showing a bad sensor.
Has anybody had this same happen to you? Thank You, Claydoe.
