my TPMS light went on. so I checked the pressure and my tires are all ok. I've been driving the car with the light on for about 300 miles. do I have a bad sensor or something? if so, how do I determine which rim has the bad sensor?

Did the light go off after you painted your rims? Or maybe one of the TPMS has a dying battery. I'd help (have a tpms scanner tool), but I'm on the other end of the country.

I think you are in California, go to america's tire. They are all over cali. Same company as discount tire for us in Texas. My wife is currently working in California and have used them several times. They can check and reset your tpms for no charge. They will even check to make sure that you don't have a slow leak.

I was just talking about this issue with AlexM on that other thread. I had this problem also 4 days ago and I checked the pressure, it was fine. Took it to my mechanic he couldn't figure out what was wrong. So I took it to the dealer they said the sensors were messed up and they changed them, took exactly 20 mins. It's gone now. Is the light blinking for 60 seconds and then solid? If so something is wrong with the system, if it's just flat out on then the pressure is low (always check the pressure when the tires are cold, checkin warm tires won't give an accurate reading). Mine was throwing the malfunction light (blinking then solid) and I just reprogrammed the sensors to the car (using the G37 instructions) and it hasn't come back yet *knock on wood*

Had the same problem with the Z - turns out I had a sensor that wasn't sending a proper reading, so I got all four sensors replaced under warranty. The light never blinked upon start up - it was just solid all the time, even though I had correct, even pressure in all four tires.

I would follow these other dudes' advice and go to a tire place to check the sensor. I know Nissan plugs a CONSULT device to the OBD-II port to get a pressure reading off the sensors for diagnostic (for the Z anyway - the dealer dude made it sound as if the Z uses different TPMS sensors than most of the other Nissans).

I doubt you're under warranty anymore though, am I correct? If you still have some left, I'd check with Nissan first.

thats exactly what it does. it blinks first and then goes solid. what are the instructions to reprogram it or where can I find the instructions? thanks!

In the video the blinking isn't the slow blink, its the normal malfunction blink. It took several tries for me to get into the relearn mode. Try grounding it before you switch the ignition to "on" then once its on remove it and do it six times.

so I tried some more again today and the light stopped blinking all together. it just stays solid from when the car is started. I put air in my tires and drove around a little bit but the light is still on. it doesnt blink anymore though... it doesnt bother me THAT MUCH lol I think i'll just leave it for now
