I live in southern New Mexico and the interstate speed limit is 75 mph. If it's cool to cold out and I'm traveling to Las Cruces or to Albuquerque along I-25, or if going to Roswell to see kids, the TPMS light comes on or even blinks (at times). Generally, it starts after the tires are well warmed-up, AND at speeds in excess of 70 mph. It is also noticed while crossing the mountains. The light does go off when I travel at speeds less than 65 mph, or upon letting the car sit a short while.

BTW, yes, I regularly monitor the "cold" tire pressure to ensure it's within specs. Nissan service adviser says "not to worry". However, the blinking light does concern me. :ohno:

Any Suggestions ??

Thanks for your input !!

Flashing indicates a TPMS system fault.

I've had this problem before, and it occurred during a stretch of highway road that was crossing mountains & near radio towers/airports. It also happened in regions where my 3G signal gets dropped down to 2G.

I suspect it was some sort of interference fault, and my dealer cleared the codes. Nothing was done to really "fix" this problem.

The next generation of TPMS systems will be indirect using ABS sensors to measure rotation diameter, which is somewhat amusing because the market was previously using the indirect, then shifted to direct, and now going back to indirect.
